The one rod I'd take in a disaster is...

...my 7' TTT for a DT2. I have several fine rods, some old and some on the newer side of things (nothing made within the past 10 years), and I fish my collection. Gives me great pleasure to cast fine cane to wild trout out here in California. And I've traveled with bamboo overseas, to Scotland and England, and to Japan, where I fished the snowmelt waters of the sacred mountain, Fujiyama. But the TTT is a treasure of a rod -- so light and lithe and deadly accurate, and impregnated, perfect for the hot weather I sometimes encounter in the American West.

I have fished the rod with silk and plastic lines, and I couldn't say which is better. Both lines work well. My reels of choice have been three, an old 1492 Medalist, a CFO lll that balances well and looks good with the dark metal on the rod, and the great 2 9/16s St., George, a match made in angling heaven. I know I'm laying on the kudos real heavy here, but if I had to run out the door as disaster strikes, the tube with this rod would be the one I grab.

regards from a happy customer,
Darrell
