Best Fly Fishing Rods for the Hardcore Angler
T & T rods are built for the aggressive angler who uses rods as a tool. They're made to be used and abused by both the angler and the fish which is what the hardcore angler needs. I used the Exocett 88 12wt in Guyana last month targeting Arapaima and got raw introduction to handling fish that reach sizes in excess of 6 feet. I was impressed with how well these rods stood up against not only those behemoths, but the elements as well.

Best Fly Rods for Permit, Tarpon and Roosterfish
They’re lightweight, which is easier for me having a smaller build than the dudes. Even the 11 and 12’s don’t feel too heavy for me to cast all day.
I use the Exocett 10 for permit, and the Sextant 11 wt for tarpon and roosterfish.

I love the specificity of each series of rods, there's one for everything I do. I need rods I can rely on, ones that give me the cutting edge in competition and my aide in my performance. I'm then able to use those same rods as tools on the water with clients in ways that helps lessen the learning curve of certain techniques. I fish the Contact series, Avantt, and Exocett. I'm excited to get my hands on the trout spey.

Fly Rods for All Species
My home waters are Martha's Vineyard we are pursuing stripers, bluefish, albies, and bonito with the Exocett 88. In the winter months, I guide freshwater rivers in Maine, Western Mass, and Connecticut for trout and pike, and go-to the Paradigm. When I am guiding salt, I always think salt is my favorite fishery, but in the winter I am saying I like fresh better. So I guess I am lucky enough to love them both!
