From casting to the grip and grin this rod gets it done, with style.

My buddy and I headed to upstate New York for our almost annual reunion with the steelhead. In a pandemic year we found a hotel with a kitchen, packed our own food, and bought everything we need to stay socially distant. We only entered one store in 4 1/2 days!
The river was very low and the sun was brilliant for the first couple days -slow fishing. The rod behaved beautifully. I fished big flies, little flies, weighted, and unweighted, long, and short. As a relative newby to double handed casting the rod did great with my double spey cast and my single handed casts as well. I even caught a few smaller fish along the way.

On the last day of our trip it rained and the fish turned on! I went 3/5 on bright chrome fish to 10+ pounds. The 11' 6 weight DNA switch was a perfect match for these bruisers. We were fishing near the river mouth so these fish were hot! Right out of the lake. The last fish, easily 10 pounds, took me down three runs and showed me a ton of backing. The switch rod had the power to slow this large specimen but was forgiving enough not to snap off the leader.
