Contact II Series

Contact II blank construction utilizes five different types of premium quality carbon and fiberglass fibers, bound together by our proprietary aerospace resin system. Aligning these fibers at strategic angles as we roll Contact II blanks improves accuracy, sensitivity, and strength. Components have been carefully selected to maximize performance and comfort. Improved guide spacing moves a “Low Rider” style stripping guide to the butt section of each Contact II, which decreases line sag from the angler’s hand to the first guide.

Features:

  • Optimized guide spacing with lowered stripping guides to decrease line sag between the hand and first guide
  • Increased backbone power to improve hook sets and assist landing larger fish
  • Extra dense premium Flor grade cork grips increases feel and bite transmission
  • Black RECoil single foot snake guides
  • Black hook keeper and winding check
  • Black “Low Rider” style stripping guide keeps line tighter to blank for improved strike transmission and accuracy
  • New low-profile rounded fighting butt for balance and comfort
  • Stealthy brown and olive thread wraps.
  • Downlocking reel seat standard on 2wt to 4wt models
  • Uplocking reel seat available on 2wt-4wt rods at an additional $25 charge
  • Uplocking, all-metal reel seat and full wells grip standard on 1086 model

ContactII 1092- ROD YOU SHULD OWN

It’s the best euro nymphing rod I have used so far . It beats all the expectations I had after doing research about it .
It definitely will put few other top rated expensive rods on the shelf for quite some time . After using T&T Contact II one realizes how top rated rod should look and preform.it’s an amazing rod .
I can’t be happier about getting this rod and highly recommend it to any angler who wants a beautiful/ light / sensitive rod that can cast a very small lightly weighted fly with an ease .
All I can say to all avid angles is - Treat yourself buy T&T Contact II you will enjoy it , it is the rod you should own !

Love my T & T Rod

This is my first T & T rod and it’s is so enjoyable to fish. It's the best casting rod I have found for nymphing techniques, and it has the right amount of backbone to land larger fish! I have caught more fish with my T & T rod.

T&T 1123 Contact II

The slogan is accurate - ‘The rod you’ll eventually own.’ I’ve held out for a long time, but all it took was one trip with guide Lance Wilt using his 1123 Contact II and I was converted. The extended reach, the unmatched feel and control, this rod has it all. In fact, I’ve now converted to the T&T Zone 1007 for steelhead and couldn’t be happier. They say it’s the Indian, not the arrow, but man does T&T make some great “arrows.”

Follow-up to David Lundeen's post of 1st July 2022 re T&T Contact II, 1086 model for Lake Nymphing

I've been searching for a rod that would suit ESN style fishing for Brown Trout in the lakes of Western Ireland (large expanses of water where windy conditions can be challenging). The 1086 model of the Contact II seems like the perfect choice. A higher weighted rod than one would typically use for nymphing, but is not as stiff in the tip as the type of rod that one might typically resort to when using traditional fly-fishing techniques in that scenario. Thanks David.
I'd be very interested in hearing from David (or anyone else who has tried the 1086 for this type of Lake Nymphing application) to know what reel and line one might match with that rod. A dedicated ESN reel (like Sage's ESN reel, which I use for river nymphing) will not readily accommodate a #6 line. And most dedicated ESN lines that I'm aware of go up to a maximum of #5 weighting.
Feedback welcome. Feel free to e-mail me directly at [****]
Yours sincerely,
Peter Kavanagh (Dublin, Ireland)

1086 - Perfect Great Lakes steelhead Rod

In my quest to refine my tight line nymphing game for lake run steelhead and brown trout in Minnesota and Wisconsin, I stumbled upon this beauty. My previous ride of choice was a Sage Accel seven-weight 10 ft. Pretty much any rod like this is not designed to be tightlined, and even nymphing with a bobber is hard. They are too fast, and the tip is too stiff. Hence there are a lot of fish that even a good angler would miss. On a whim, I decided to purchase this rod, and much to my surprise the sensitivity went tightlining was as good as a three weight on a small trout stream. By fishing a rod actually designed for Great lakes scenarios, I can fish same spots, runs, types of water with much greater confidence and an increased amount of fish brought to the net. Just as using an indicator a trout stream is a nuisance at best, pick up this rod and ditch the indicator when your steelhead fishing. You'll be much more confident and land that many more fish.
