Who introduced you to fly fishing?

My father and Grandfather

Can you tell us a little about your home waters and the fish you pursue there?

The Farmington River is a moody tailwater. I fish for trout: brook, brown, rainbow, and Palamino.

What's the height of the season for you? What time of year is your personal favorite?

The height of Season is April-July. My personal favorite time is June-July.

What are your favorite travel destinations? What's on the bucket list?

I have not traveled too much outside of the Berkshires, Pennsylvania, and The Deleware.., On the bucket list, are New Zealand and Patagonia.

What you like most about Thomas and Thomas rods? Which rods do you fish?

The precision, sensitivity, and durability. I also appreciate that they are locally crafted. I fish the contact nymph rod.

What's your current go-to fly?

There really is not just one on the Farmington, but if I had to say, I would go with a Frenchie.

Other than fly tackle, what piece of gear do you find indispensable?

Polarized Sunglasses and my long-handled net.

What's your ideal lunch when on the water? What do you actually pack?

My ideal lunch on the water is something portable and light so I don't slow down. As far as clients, there are so many dietary restrictions, so we often go to the local sandwich shop where they can get a sandwich made exactly to their liking.

What fly fishing blogs/magazines do you read regularly?

Trout bitten and Blog Fly fish MA.

When I'm not fishing you'll find me:

With my wife and sons, or tending bar in NYC.
