Who introduced you to fly fishing?

Can you tell us a little about your home waters and the fish you pursue there?
Home water is the mighty Vaal River collecting both small mouth and large mouth yellow and small-scale yellow fish.
What's the height of the season for you? What time of year is your personal favorite?
In Africa its almost always summertime, so we are almost always out guiding.
What are your favorite travel destinations? What's on the bucket list?
Argentina & Bolivia & Seychells are some of my favorite places to fish. But where ever in the world I find myself fishing I am enjoying it. On the bucket list would be mako sharks.
What do you like most about Thomas and Thomas rods? Which rods do you fish?
Thomas and Thomas deliver because I pull on them like no other. I only have one brand of rod, 5.7.8.9.10.12 .14/16 most are horizon 2.
What's your current go-to fly?
The rolling bead crab for permit and brush flies for GTS.
Other than fly tackle, what piece of gear do you find indispensable?
My camera.
My favorite thing about guiding is:
When clients are retelling their stories after a good day on the water and meeting like-minded people.
From the angler’s point of view, what do you see as the main value of going on a guided trip?
Anglers point of view he cuts the learning curve in a short amount of time, the good info is shared, also clients learn stuff that has been tried and tested.
What can new fisherman expect to get out of a guided trip? My favorite thing to teach a client is ...
A new fisherman gets the total experience and the best thing to teach them is to enjoy the surroundings and to help them get better some solid advice goes a long way.
What's your ideal lunch when on the water? What do you actually pack?
Wraps with bacon, whatever the chef has prepared so lots of water and stuff that does not go soggy.
What fly fishing blogs/magazines do you read regularly?
Saltwater mags and any complete flyfisherman.
