Years Fishing?

Who introduced you to fly fishing?
Family
Can you tell us a little about your favorite waters and the fish you pursue there?
From the untouched watersheds of Northern Finland to the rugged streams of the Rockies, we’re fortunate to fish in some of the world’s most pristine waters. These fisheries are largely untapped, so it often feels like we have the rivers all to ourselves. Within a short drive in any direction, there’s access to world-class fishing.
What's the height of the season for you? What time of year is your personal favorite?
The peak season depends on where we are in the world, but typically May through September holds some of the best months for fishing.
What are your favorite travel destinations? What's on the bucket list?
It’s hard to choose just one, but South Africa stands out for tigerfish. As for my bucket list, New Zealand has always been a dream.
What you like most about Thomas and Thomas rods? Which rods do you fish?
They’re well-balanced, strong, and responsive. But more than anything, it’s the people behind the company who make a difference. My go-to rods are the Exocett, Paradigm, and Avantt.
What's your current go-to fly?
For versatility, it’s hard to beat a simple clouser or a small, simple crystal flash woolly bugger. For dry flies, a caddis works beautifully in mountain streams.
Other than fly tackle, what piece of gear do you find indispensable?
My camera—I love capturing the moments from each fishing adventure.
What's your ideal lunch when on the water? What do you actually pack?
My ideal lunch changes with the season, but often it’s a turkey avocado sandwich, a Kind bar, and cold spring water.
What fly fishing blogs/magazines do you read regularly?
Honestly, I’m more into western novels—great for unwinding, even if they’re not fishing-related!
When I'm not fishing you'll find me:
Living the mountain and ranch life out west with my partner these days.
